CHILDREN’S MINISTRY

Children's Church, Nursery and Sunday School

Children’s Church
Children ages 4-6 are welcome to join Children’s Church on Sunday Morning! At Valley, we feel it is important that children worship alongside their parents, but we also understand that their attention span often won’t allow them to sit through an entire service. As part of their time together, the children will have a snack, will be taught a short Bible lesson and will have time to play.

Children are usually dismissed before the sermon begins each week. You may escort them to the north end of the Education Wing.

Whether it’s through painting, coloring or storytelling, your children will come out with a better understanding of who Jesus Christ is and what God desires from His children.

Nursery
The nursery staff at Valley desires to provide quality childcare in a loving environment. It is our hope that parents can fully participate in worship and fellowship knowing their children are being well cared for.

There are three nurseries to accommodate the wide age ranges and abilities of young children.

Infant Nursery is available for babies from birth to walking well. A privacy curtain and comfortable seating is available for nursing moms.

Waddler Nursery is for those walking well to 24 months.

Toddler Nursery is for 2 to 3 year olds.

The safety of your child is important to us. Upon arrival, you will be required to sign in and leave any pertinent information. You will also receive a number that will be used to reunite you with your child after the service.

Sunday School
Our Sunday school program at Valley strives to convey the truth of God’s Word to the children attending Sunday School. The presentation of this truth is broken down into a spiritual food, served in just the right manner, so that children may blossom into God-fearing adults later in their life. Here at Valley, our intent is to show children God's love so they will begin to take steps toward knowing Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. As children come to know who Jesus is, we seek to help them grow in their knowledge of scripture and helping them to grow strong in their faith and walk with the Lord.

Classes are separated as follows and all meet in the west wing of the church building:

2 & 3 yr olds (must be 2 years old before the school year starts)
4 & 5 yr olds
Kindergarten & 1st Grade
2nd and 3rd Grade
4th and 5th Grade

Teaching your children about faith starts at home as parents teach their children. This training of children can also carry over into the church if God has given you the passion and gift to teach kids. We are always looking for those people who have been given the gift of teaching and ministering to children. Getting involved in teaching is at the very heart of God’s great commission (Matt. 28:18-20).
