PARISH NURSE

As the parish nurse at Valley, my role is to be a health educator and advocate for individuals where health issues are a concern. I am available to do blood pressure checks, hold first aid classes and do home visits. In addition, I contribute a monthly health related article for the church newsletter.

The VEFC parish nurse is a professional registered nurse, licensed by the State of Minnesota, and has completed a Parish Nurse Program.

All personal information is kept strictly confidential.

Goals include:

• Reclaiming an old tradition of the church, which was involved in health related and healing ministries.
• Aid people who are struggling with an ever increasingly complicated health care system.
• Address the concerns of our members as it relates to aging and the elderly.
• Increase awareness in the congregation of the close relationship between physical, social, mental, emotional, and the spiritual needs of each person.
• Help individuals in all aspects of life celebrate the miracle of life as a gift of God.
